The D-8 Water Cooperation Meeting was hosted by SUEN on 21-22 February 2013 at Istanbul Cevahir Convention Center. This was the first ever water themed meeting of the D-8 countries. High level representatives from water institutions of all D-8 countries have participated in the meeting. On the first day of the D-8 Water Cooperation Meeting, three separate technical sessions were chaired by the State Hydraulic Works (DSI), General Directorate of Water Management (SYGM) and General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM). The second day was reserved for joint session in which the outcomes of the three technical sessions were shared. At the end of the D-8 Water Cooperation Meeting, Turkey and particularly SUEN was designated as the “D-8 Water Cooperation Coordination Authority”.
